It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Theresa Bohun, 76, of Saskatoon, who passed away suddenly on January 23, 2025, at RUH Hospital due to complications from her battle with cancer.
Darlene was predeceased by her parents, John Robert Willie in 1983 and Margaret Mary Willie in 1999, as well as her beloved husband, Garry Bohun, in 2011. She is survived by her son, Dallas Bohun, his wife, Stefanie (Arams), and their daughter, Leysa.
Darlene was born on March 24, 1948, in Saskatoon to John Robert Willie and Margaret Mary Keindel. She was their only child.
Darlene's formative years were spent on the family farm, later moving to Saskatoon to finish her primary and high school studies.
In 1968, Darlene met the love of her life, Garry Bohun, and the two married in 1971. Together, they had one son, Dallas, born in 1980.
Throughout her life, Darlene worked in various dry-cleaning businesses, including owning and operating alongside Garry, and holding positions at the Star Phoenix and Giant Tiger.
Darlene was known for her boundless kindness and the way she could make anyone feel at home. Whether it was through her warm smile, a listening ear, or a thoughtful gesture, she had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her. Her home was a safe haven, filled with laughter and love.
She had a quirky and delightful sense of humor that could lighten even the heaviest of days. Darlene's passion for collecting was a reflection of her vibrant personality. She found joy in antiques, pop culture memorabilia, and collector cards, curating pieces that brought her happiness and told a story. She had a sharp eye for unique treasures and loved sharing the stories behind them.
Above all, Darlene's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Dallas, a loving mother-in-law to Stefanie, and a doting grandmother to Leysa. Her love and support were constants in their lives, and her legacy will live on through the countless memories she created with them.
