Deborah Joy Ritzand (nee Burback)
1954 - 2022
Debbie passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on Monday Jan 31, 2022 at the age of 67, after a 14-month battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her parents Jack and Rose Burback, and beloved husband Gary. Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her children Tracy, Belinda (Jason), son Wade (Nickie) and Jen (Mike), her grandchildren Dylan, Hailey, Quincey, Abigail, Madison, Ocean, Deesin, and Brooklyn, her sisters Delorus (Gord) and Cindy (Brent) as well as many nieces, nephews, extended families, and good friends.
Debbie was born in Yorkton. She worked at RUH hospital, and after taking a few years off to raise her children she then worked at Prairie Opthamalics. In 2003 Gary and Debbie Moved to Iroquois Lake where they loved to spend their summers. Their winters were spent in Yuma Arizona with their "Yuma Families." Debbie loved Swedish Weaving and making fleece tied blankets, she made many blankets for family and friends. She was always ready for a good game of cards. Debbie was a very strong women and loved by so many!! She loved her children and grandchildren to the moon and back!! The family would like to thank the Doctors and nurses at St. Paul’s palliative care for their care and kindness. Donations in memory of Debbie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of choice.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26th, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Westwood Funeral Chapel.
