It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie and friend, Betty St. Denis, at the age of 89, on Thursday Nov 29th, 2018, at her private care home after a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer and COPD. Betty was born and raised by parents Bridget and Ronald Bezanson in Frenchman Butte, and moved to Saskatoon in 1948 where she worked and met the love of her life, Ted St. Denis (predeceased 1993). Together they raised 6 children; Ted (Christine), Jackie (Vince) Sorowski, Randy, Gail Cathcart, Diane and Betty (Brian) Gibson. Grandchildren, Kristopher (Jamie), Bradley (Megan), Randine (Geoff), Trent (Lorrie), Bonnie, Austin, Joseph (Denis), Ron, Jaclyn, Jason (Nikki), Jennifer (Glen), Brittany, Brent, Danielle (Ryan), Gerrett, Tayler, and 18 great grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by five loving siblings, two sons- in- laws; Kurt Straker and Lloyd Cathcart and one grandson, Chad Sorowski.
Mom enjoyed many years at the cabin at Emma Lake, always surrounded by lots of family and friends. She loved her many trips back to Frenchman Butte. She enjoyed her yard and gardening, knitting, puzzles and trips to Vegas. Mom was kind hearted and always there to guide us in her carefree and loving ways, which we will cherish forever.
Words cannot express our heartfelt appreciation for the loving care that Dorothy and Richard Gerbrandt, of Gerbrandt Homes provided for our mother. Our mother always expressed how much she loved and appreciated the care she was receiving.
We are thankful that she is now with her Lord and Savior!
The Service to celebrate Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Westwood Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:00pm. The interment will be held prior to the service at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend the interment can meet at the Cemetery gates at 12:45 pm
