It is with great sadness that the family of Len Prokop announce his passing at the age of 82. Len is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mildred; daughter Sandra, sons Doug (Shelley), Garry (Barb), and daughter Sharon (Dan); seven grandchildren - Neal (Danielle), Karina (Ryan), Hannah, Lauryn, Tess, Garner, and Calla; three great-grandchildren - Dax, William, and Parker. Len was predeceased by his mother and father, Mary and Philip Prokop.
Dad was born in Biggar and spent his early years in Cando before moving to Tisdale, SK. After high school, where he was provincial shot put champion in 1955,
he then worked for the Tisdale bank in the summer months, and the Hudson Bay sawmill in the winter. Dad married mom in 1962 and they spent time in Ontario before moving back to Saskatoon in 1967 to raise their family. Dad worked for Xerox for 25 years before retiring in 1994. He was well known for his love of sports and was always up for a good debate, no matter what the subject. He had a keen interest in current events and never missed an episode of Jeopardy.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor of St. Paul's Hospital for their excellent care of Dad. As per Dad's wishes there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
