Louvaine Constance Gwendolen Muyres, age 82, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024 at St Paul's Hospital. Louvaine was born on May 12, 1942 in Rama, SK to Walter and Genevieve Muyres. She is survived by her sister, Deanna and brothers Val (Sandy) and Duane. As well as her two nieces, two nephews, five grand-nieces and five grand-nephews who will miss her very much.
Louvaine began her schooling in Bruno SK, the family later moved to Saskatoon where she was among the first graduating class of Mount Royal Collegiate in 1961. She went on to Robertson Secretarial School upon graduating she went to work for the City of Saskatoon Electrical Dept as a secretary, later moving to a Payroll Clerk. In 2005 Louvaine retired as the first female to give 40yrs of service as a City of Saskatoon employee.
Louvaine loved travelling, her garden, her family and Elvis. She began travelling internationally in 1974 taking her to countries in the Middle East, Eastern and Western Europe, Ireland, Scotland and England with some of her last trips in 2010's with friends to Wales, Northern Canada and a European river tour. Her yard and garden were absolutely beautiful, she loved flowers and growing vegetables.
Louvaine happily spent her retirement years making new friends, gardening and baking for her family. Her cabbage rolls, rhubarb cake and jewels bars will be forever missed. But her greatest joy was the time she spent with her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews especially when they were little.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Louvaine on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mary's Parish (211 Ave O South).
