Lucien “ Lu” Emile Lanovaz
The family and friends of Lu Lanovaz are saddened to announce his sudden passing on May 11, 2024 in Saskatoon at the age of 67, with his sweetheart Nancy and his daughters by his side.
Lu was a man who was known for his witty sense of humor. Storytelling with such a seriousness, then unexpectedly hitting you with a punchline. He had a catalogue mind when it came to jokes and loved to see people laughing. He also had a love for the outdoors. Being at the lake, camping trips, fishing, hunting, or just simply sitting around the fire in the evenings.
The love and kindness that he has emitted to family and friends will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Lu leaves behind to mourn, his loving spouse Nancy Merrick and the Merrick and Farmer families, his three daughters Robin (Collin) Shackleton, Heather Lanovaz (Greg), Nikki (JR) Caldwell, seven grandchildren, Vincent Shackleton, Trent, Kylynne, Brynne and Brielle McGraw, Lucy and Connor Caldwell, two sisters Yvette Lanovaz, Annette Lanovaz (Todd), two brothers Les (Tina) Lanovaz and “Mouse” Marcel Lanovaz and brother-in-laws Dave Derak and Dennis Arcand, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Lovingly and humbly reuniting with those who have gone before him. His parents Marjorie Kometscher and Emile Lanovaz, his baby sister Evette Lanovaz, his first wife Sandra Lanovaz, brother Onile Lanovaz, sister Emily Derak and sister Lillian Arcand and his dear old friend and hunting partner Jim Ziegler.
Saying goodbye is hard dad, so we say, rest easy, we will see you again.
The family wishes to extend much gratitude to the nursing staff at the St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care of our dear father and spouse on his next journey.
Cremation Services have been entrusted to Westwood Funeral Chapel in Saskatoon, SK.
