With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mom at her home in Saskatoon, July 4, 2024. She will be greatly missed by her two sons, Wade (Wendy) Petrishen of Saskatoon, and Brent of Saskatoon, daughter Corrinne; her five grandchildren, David L., Laura(John), David A. (Jay), Mathew, Trenton, Graham, great grandchildren Theoden and Winry and many, many special nieces and nephews and close friends. Mom was born and raised on a farm near Alix, Alberta. She loved horses, (could ride like the wind), dogs and cats. Special mention of her cat Poncho and her beloved Beagle Chelsea who she loved dearly. Mom was an avid musician and played in several bands in her younger days, a trait that has passed to her children and grand children. Mom was married in 1955 and relocated to Saskatchewan in 1959. Margaret was pre-deceased by husband John, son Scott, daughter Lois, grandson Christopher.
She lived for her kids, always being there when we came home for lunch and never believing in latch-key kids (her words). Later in life mom completed the Horticulture certificate program at the University of Saskatchewan. Moms’ garden, yard, family and Christianity were the cornerstones of her life, and the love and effort she put into them remains a testament to her forever. Gardening and canning vegetables and fruits was an annual project she loved to do. Garden planning would start early every new year. Even in failing health she planted her garden and remained positive until the end. May she rest in the peace she so richly deserves and has earned. We shall love and miss her forever.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Royal University Hospital foundation in the name of Margaret Petrishen.
At mom’s request there will be no funeral or memorial.
