With great sadness we announce passing of Maria Fejkiel-Indyk of Saskatoon at the age of 87. After a courageous battle with cancer she passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020 at the St. Paul Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. She spent most of her life in Poland and lived in Canada for the last 25 years.

Maria will be remembered for her positivity, devotion to God, brave spirit, artistic soul and beautiful smile. She was blessed with many talents and great friendships. She had a beautiful voice and was a great dancer. Her love for flowers and gardening was immense and inspiring.

She leaves behind over 200 paintings that she painted over the last ten years, many poems that she wrote, and a biography of her late husband and her autobiography. She made delicious perogies and crepes, adored by all who tasted them.

She was a great mother to her three children and step mother to one step daughter. She was a grandmother that every grandchild would wish for and a great role model to her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren in Canada and Poland.

Maria was predeceased by her two husbands, two sisters and three brothers, and leaves behind three children with their families, six grandchildren with their families, two great grandchildren, one sister with her family and one step daughter and her family.

The memorial service will be held on November 26, 2020 at 6:30 pm, at the Our Lady of Czestochowa church in Saskatoon. The urn with her remains will be flown to Poland for final burial.

A sincere thank you to all staff at the oncology department and cancer clinic at the Royal University Hospital, and 6th Floor and Palliative Care staff at the St. Paul's Hospital for their amazing care and support over the last three months, as well as to Dr. Ewa Olszynsky, family doctor, for many years of great medical care.
