Shirley Anne Martell

1952 — July 29, 2019

MARTELL,

Shirley Anne

(nee Fraser)

Oct. 12, 1952 -

July 29, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Shirley Martell passed

away peacefully in her sleep, due to a sudden illness,

at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon surrounded by her two children.

Shirley was born in Regina on October 12, 1952 and

would later move with her parents to Manitou Beach.

Growing up she was a talented athlete and was someone

who wouldn't back down from a challenge. With her late

husband Jake they would move from Watrous to Fort

McMurray and then onto Edmonton. Here she apprenticed

as a welder before moving back to the Usborne

district to farm. Shirley had a love of sewing and a passion

for music, which was always evident, whether it be

humming along to a song and dancing or turning the

stereo up loud when the kids came up to the Watrous 5

Pin Bowling Alley. Shirley also loved to garden and took

pride in her gardens and flower beds, she could make

anything grow and her yards always looked amazing.

Anyone who met Shirley knew she had a very kind

heart and her sense of humour could make anyone laugh.

Shirley is survived by her two children, her daughter

Sherry Martell of Regina and her son Rob Martell

(Christine) of Calgary and her grandson Chace.

She was predeceased by her husband Jake of 47

years in 2018 and her twin sister in May of 2019.

No funeral service will be held as per her wishes.
