Yvonne Mercereau

Yvonne passed away peacefully on Saturday January 21, 2017. She was born in Carlton, SK on May 28, 1918. Yvonne received a teaching degree that saw her teach in many districts in Saskatchewan and eventually settling in Eston, SK. For the bulk of her career, the highlight of which was teaching in Baden-Soellingen Germany for two years. While in Eston, she enjoyed her hobbies of golfing, curling, reading and extensive travelling. She also travelled around the world with a friend from 1969-1970. Yvonne retired in 1978 after a teaching career spanning 36 years. She moved to Saskatoon, becoming involved with the church and volunteered in many capacities as a member of the CWL. She enjoyed her summers at Emma Lake golfing, reading and relaxing. Yvonne is predeceased by her parents Clement and Alice Mercereau, sisters Alice and Marie, brothers Aime, Alphonse, Harry, Elie, Julien, Joseph and Joe. Thanks to the staff at Betty’s Care Home and the staff at St. Joseph’s Care Home for their dedication and compassion in the care of our Auntie. Yvonne will be deeply missed.
