Zofia Maria Wieczorek

1925 — April 1, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of our mother Zofia Wieczorek on Friday, April 1, 2022. Zofia was born in Wieczorki, Poland on May 24, 1925.

In 1940 she was taken to Basarabia by the Russian army for 6 years. She returned to Poland in 1946 and married Bronislaw Wieczorek on September 7, 1947. She moved to Saskatoon, Canada in May of 1959. She worked for the City of Saskatoon Parks and Recreation Department for 27 years from 1963 – 1990.

Zofia is survived by her children Stella Pronkiewicz (Julia and Christine); Kathee (Eric) and their children (Tania, Justin and Kristen); and Janina Mazza and her children (Justin and Gino). Also her sister Genowefa Krasko, great granddaughter Simone Girard and three great grandsons Christian Sorensen, Jacob Sorensen and Michael Swiatecki.

She was predeceased by her parents Josef Pawelski and Magdalena Pawelska, husband Bronislaw, son Henry, son Kazimierz in infancy, brother Wladyslaw Pawelski, father-in-law Jan Wieczorek and mother-in-law Agnieszka Reklinska.

There will be a visitation at 6:00 pm Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Westwood Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Polish Parish.
