Obituary of Heather Daye McDonald

Heather McDonald passed away suddenly on November 23, 2018 at Royal University Hospital surrounded by family and friends.  Heather was born in Edmonton, Alberta on November 10, 1954, the youngest of three sisters.  She grew up in Saskatoon and Pike Lake area where she attended school.  She attended Saskatoon business college as a young adult studying administration.  Heather worked at a variety of companies and was known for her work ethic. She had three children, and spent countless hours and energy fundraising so that she could see them participating in activities that made them happy. One of Heather’s enjoyments in life was decorating for Christmas, especially with her snowman collection.  Heather will always be remembered for her boisterous laugh, her enthusiasm for sports, especially embarrassing her children while they played, her crafting creativity and investing in family. Heather is lovingly remembered by her three children, Matthew, Jonathan and Kristin Duchak, and her sister, Beverly Lackie.  Heather loved and was very dedicated to her grandson Emerson. Heather was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Alice McDonald; sister Sharon Ives; and brother-in-law Hal Lackie.  The memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, November 30th, 2018 at West Portal Church, 3134 33rd Street West.  Heather’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank-you to the staff in the CCU at RUH.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1011 University Dr., Saskatoon, SK. S7N 0K4.
