Obituary of Rae Murdock

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Rae Murdock at St. Paul's Hospital on November 7, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Rae was born in Mawer, SK. Predeceased by his parents John and Violet; brothers Campbell and James; and sister Lois Houseman. Survived by his wife of 60 years Joan (Averill); his son Cameron (Jennifer) and their children Madisyn and Chase; his daughter Jillian (Brian) Schneider and their children Samantha (Shay Sutherland) and Reed Schneider; and great-grandchildren Mason and Violet. Rae spent his life in the funeral service industry culminating in the operation of Westwood Funeral Chapel for nearly 40 years. He was active in the community especially with the Lions and the Shrine Club. He enjoyed his association with the Diamond Athletic Club. He was an adamant sports fan, attending Riders games for many years. Upon retirement he spent time golfing at Wakaw Lake and wintered in Mesa, Arizona for about 15 years. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation; St. Paul's Foundation or to a cause of your own choice.

Funeral

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Mayfair United Church (902 33rd St. W, Saskatoon). Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.
