Obituary of Arnold Dwyer

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Dad and Grandpa Arnie on Friday, January 22nd with family by his side. Arnie was predeceased by his wife Faye, mother Birdy, father Patrick, daughter-in-law Rose and step grandson Tommy. Left to mourn are his sisters and brothers Marge (Clarence deceased) Kerfoot, Shirley (Joe) Pernitsky, Evelyn (Wayne) Nicholls, Jim (Kelly) Dwyer and Ron (Ev) Clark. His children Rick (Becky), Dave (Dawn), Janice (Wayne) Elliott, Jeff (Cindy) and Susan (Charles) Mowat, along with 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and many very close friends that were like children to him. Arnie was born in Biggar, SK. where his family farmed until they moved into town when he was 15. Arnie married Faye Armstrong in 1954 in Biggar and the couple later moved into Saskatoon with the start of their young family. They went on to have 5 children and spend 55 years of marriage before her passing in 2009. Arnie worked many jobs in his life from being the Milkman in his early years, driving truck, building roads all over Saskatchewan, shop foreman and welder at companies including Fort Gary Industries, McKay Construction and Winnicot Springs. He worked as a courier for the last few years before her retired in 1997. Arnie loved to camp with his family. They enjoyed many summers at Emma Lake where he will be very missed by his happy hour friends and family. Arnie was an active member with the Saskatoon General Radio Club. He volunteered with many activities over the years in Saskatoon from the Louis Riel Days, Snowarama, 24 Hour Relay, Jingle Bell Run to ringing bells at Christmas. Dad loved to entertain friends and family and will be sadly missed.

Funeral

The funeral for Arnie will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Westwood Funeral Chapel (corners of 20th St and Ave N).
