Obituary of Winifred Cullen

Winnie passed away peacefully in the early morning of Friday, August 12th with her family by her side at Central Haven Care Home. Winnie will be dearly missed by her son Gerard (Lin) and their family, Chase (Mandie Lanctot), Brett, and Brock, and her son Paul (Pam) and their family, Vanessa, Eric, and Courtney. Winnie was predeceased by her husband Joe in 2009, also by her parents Hugh and Susan Cairns, her sister Theresa and brothers John, Hugh and Tommy. Winnie was born in Motherwell Scotland. She worked at the Glasgow Dock Labour Boards. She married Joe on August 16, 1952. Winnie and her family immigrated to Canada on April 7, 1965, and made Saskatoon their home. She was employed at Royal University Hospital as a ward clerk for 26 years. Winnie enjoyed reading, knitting, and delving into crafts. She also enjoyed traveling with Scotland and Mexico being special vacation spots. Winnie also liked spending time at Peck Lake and Emma Lake. Winnie was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and an active member in the CWL for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be sent to St. Mary’s Building Fund or Central Haven Care Home.

Funeral

The evening Vigil will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Parish 211 Avenue O South, celebrated by Father Ciro Perez.
