Mona Morgan passed away at home in Saskatoon surrounded by her family at the age of 94 years.

Mona was the loving Mother of: Cynthia (Bruce) Weir of Kanata ON, Tom Morgan, Lee Anne (George) Erker, Diane (Glen) Ewert, and Jim Morgan all of Saskatoon, SK. Mona will also be extremely missed by her grandchildren, Melanie (Mike) Hnidy, Michelle Morgan (Christopher Kasian), Elizabeth Weir, Chris Erker (Jessica Lantain), Allison Weir, and Morgan Ewert (Ryan Frennette) and her 8 great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Ethel, Janet, Patrica and Candace, and brother-in-law Dale Heath, sisters-in-law Winona Morgan and Barbara Morgan, her special cousins Joyce and Doreen, and numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Morgan, her daughter Lee Anne, son-in-law Glen, and siblings: George, Tom, Jack, Eleanor, Edith, Kay, Betty, Jessie, Wilma, and Rosemary.

Mona Morgan was a strong woman who dedicated her life to her family and extended family. She was a gifted seamstress and toy maker selling her crafts at the Saskatoon Farmers Market with Seven Sisters Crafts. Later in life, Mona became a quilt maker but when she could no longer sew, Mona turned to painting and enjoyed paint nights with her relations. Mona was always humble about her beautiful creations but won awards at the Saskatoon Exhibition for many of them. Family members can take comfort in their Aunty Mona quilts, stuffed toys and can reflect lovingly on the paintings that hang with pride in our houses. Mona was smart, funny and had a passion for politics and was a wise woman far ahead of her time.

Words can't express the empty space left in this world without our Mona. The family would like to send a special thank-you to the Seniors First Program and staff at Homecare especially Jeff Phaneuf NP, Rebecca RN, Nancy RN, and the many CCAs. And also to Dr. Fahd Al-Dalaan for his care of Mom in hospital and at home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Station 20 West or the Saskatoon Community Clinic.

There will be a Celebration of her life at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Westwood Funeral Chapel.
