Obituary of Ian Ryan Davis Lee Longman

Ian passed away on June 1, 2023 in Edmonton, AB after a long fight with COPD. Ian was a very funny, kind hearted, helpful and loving person. Ian will be remembered as a very loving father who always went above and beyond for his children and partner. He was a caring soul who always made people smile and laugh, no matter the what the situation. In his last months, Ian’s spirits remained high and he left this world in peace, knowing he was loved by many.

 

He is survived by his father Kelly Gerard, partner Trinity Bear-Torrence, son Grey Desjarlais, daughter Shanti Torrence-Longman, stepshildren Martin Jr., Tyrel, and Cheleigha Dustyhorn, brother Mitchel, sisters Cheyenna (David), Dominique, Hannah and Tenesha, mother-in-law Maralee Torrence, sisters-in-law Destiny, Desiree, Kyla, Natica, brother-in-law Tyrell, his special nephew Darryl Longman-Desjarlais, along with many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends that he loved.

 

Ian was predeceased by his mother Roberta Gerard, biological father Harvey Akan, sister Esther Silvey, and brother Cody Nokohoot.

 

I'd like to show my appreciation and thank Sanctum House in Saskatoon, George's Place in Edmonton for caring and showing Ian the love and kindness right untill his end of life. Special thanks to Katelyn (Sanctum)  

A gathering will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 11 am at Westwood Funeral Chapel, 1402 20th Street West, followed by a wake at George Gordon First Nation (old gym). The funeral will be held Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. at George Gordon First Nation, followed by burial at St. Luke Cemetery.
