Obituary of Millicent Marsha Watson

Millicent Marsha Dawn Watson

August 7th, 1975  -  December 12th, 2023

Millicent Marsha Dawn Watson was born on August 7th 1975, in Saskatoon, SK. Millicent grew up in Leoville, SK with her adopted parents Felicie & Gerald Watson. She was a tenacious child with a free spirit, raised to be respectful and loving. She married Joseph Belhumeur in 1994 and moved to Saskatoon, SK where she began schooling to become a teacher. On May 20th, 1995 she gave birth to Joel Belhumeur, her pride & joy. Life was tough during this time but Millicent was self-determined, smart and loving. No matter what struggles came she found a way to get through it, learn and grow. Millicent and Joseph would go their own ways but stay connected and work together to provide for Joel. Her family was always her #1 priority. In 2020 Her grandson Hunter was born and melted her heart. She loved him with everything and was constantly excited to see him. She became the happiest grams that day, and is an amazing grams. Always talking on the phone and sending videos back & forth with Hunter.

Millicent would finish her schooling, get her Degree in Education and enter the world of teaching in 2002. Here she found the most joy, challenge, and potential. She grew to become the most well respected and loved teacher in every classroom and school she gave her life too. Dedicating herself to her students and bringing a new light to learning was one of the most important parts of her teaching career and what she loved most about teaching. She would continue schooling for many more years while working and achieve her goal of getting her Masters Degree in Special Education & Psychology, proving that no matter the hardships in life you can achieve your dreams. Helping students in need is where she shined the brightest, becoming a very well respected and loved special education teacher.

Millicent loved being among nature and making art. Painting & drawing were her passions and she became an extraordinary artist. She never stopped creating and made several beautiful works of art throughout her life. She always wanted to continue expanding her skills, constantly trying out new hobbies. She found a new hope and chance in meeting her biological father, Edwin Thiel. Together as a family she found the love for the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and gardening with family brought the biggest smiles and loudest laughs, sometimes scaring the fish. Yet she always managed to catch the most or the biggest. The Farm, Lake, and Garden were her favourite places to be and where she felt happiest. She found a special beauty in nature and being one with it, cherishing every moment she got to spend among the trees and most of all, by family. She was the most amazing and kind person, and gifted that too her friends and family.

Millicent found peace on December 12th, 2023 and is survived by her son Joel Belhumeur, her grandson Hunter, her parents Edwin & Leona, her adopted father Gerald Watson, her sisters Bobby-Jo, Ann-Marie and Michelle, and many nieces, nephews, Aunties and Uncles. She is preceded in death by her daughter Syean May, and mother Marie Felicie Watson, and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
